Families & Number System
Although there were 14 colonists, Iota Chi started with nine families, due to some colonists co-creating families. From Fall 2015 forward, the families were:

The Number System:
Iota Chi uses three numbers on the back of jerseys. The numbers appear as:
The numbers are derived from the following:

Numerator: The sister's number (in their class)

Exponent: Number of candidates that received bids that semester

Denominator: Family/Colonist Number
With this system in place, years from now sisters will be able to come back and see who belongs to their family, including which branch if their family started with two colonists.
